- Born with a thyroid gland that is not functioning properly.
- Eat less food containing iodine.
- Obesity.
- Late growth of the little body.

- The body easily feels cold and easily tired.
- Constipation.
- Dry skin.
- Hair loss.
- Puberty delay.
- Sleep apnea or difficulty breathing while sleeping.
